my netgalley queue

NetGalley. A book blogger’s blessing and curse. It provides so many good books, but too many to keep track of on our ever-growing TBR lists. Today, I’m sharing some of the books I’ve requested from NetGalley that I’m excited to read.

  1. The Everlasting Rose | Dhonielle Clayton – Is there a book that I’m more excited about reading on this list than THE EVERLASTING ROSE? Probably not. Honestly, I had mixed feelings about THE BELLES while I was actually reading it, but after I was away from it for a while, I couldn’t stop thinking about it and I knew I had to read the sequel when it came out, and now I have the eARC of the sequel and EEEEEEEEEEE!
  2. Wicked Saints | Emily A. Duncan – I am unsure why this book is being SO hyped when it doesn’t even have a synopsis yet and I can’t find any info about it other than the fact that it’s about gods and monsters. All of the Flatiron YA books I’ve read have been really excellent, so this one will probably follow suit, but seriously, what is with the hype about this book?
  3. The Waking Forest | Alyssa Wees – This book I downloaded on a whim pretty much. It was comped to THE HAZEL WOOD, one of my all-time favorite books, and also PAN’S LABYRINTH, one of my all-time favorite movies, plus it’s about a witch, so obviously I had to download it.

4. Toxic | Lydia Kang – I added this one because I loved Lydia Kang’s most recent YA release, THE NOVEMBER GIRL. I’m a little worried about this one because it’s sci-fi and I do not do sci-fi, so we shall see how it goes.

5. Famous in a Small Town | Emma Mills – I don’t even really remember what this one is about; I just know I found Mills’ second novel, THIS ADVENTURE ENDS, completely delightful, and I have been meaning to read more by her ever since then.

6. The Similars | Rebecca Hanover – This is a book about clones, and a girl who goes to school with a clone of her dead best friend. This kind of book isn’t my usual thing, but for some reason I have a really good feeling about it.

7. The Devouring Gray | Christine Lynne Herman – From what I can gather, THE DEVOURING GRAY has a dead sister and a mysterious town, and I am all about mysterious towns filled with secrets. Bring it on.

    1. Honestly it’s only because I’m a librarian also. If I were just doing it as a blogger I probably wouldn’t get picked, but I’m part of a couple professional associations so I guess they like that?? I hope you can get your hands on FIAST 🙂

    1. right? it’s so weird that there’s no info on it anywhere other than “gods and monsters”. I hope you also enjoy the similars! I’m really looking forward to that one as well 🙂
