Caturday // ragdoll

Caturday is an occasional Saturday feature here at A Word and a Whisper in which I match cat breeds with books. Today’s cat feature is the ragdoll, a supersoft, cuddly, affectionate kitty…

Ragdolls are known for being SUPER cuddly and collapsing in the arms of whoever is holding them. They are very affectionate kitties who love their humans and are also very smart. The book I’m choosing this week is one I haven’t talked about a ton on the blog, and that is Kimberly Karalius’ 2015 debut, LOVE FORTUNES AND OTHER DISASTERS, synopsis below:

22718710

Love is real in the town of Grimbaud, and Fallon Dupree has dreamed of attending high school there for years. After all, generations of Duprees have successfully followed the (100% accurate!) love fortunes from Zita’s famous Love Charms Shop to happily marry their high school sweethearts. It’s a tradition. So she is both stunned and devastated when her fortune states that she will NEVER find love.

Fortunately, Fallon isn’t the only student with a terrible love fortune, and a rebellion is brewing. Fallon is determined to take control of her own fate—even if it means working with a notorious heartbreaker like Sebastian.

Will Fallon and Sebastian be able to overthrow Zita’s tyranny and fall in love?

I’m picking LOVE FORTUNES for the ragdoll because like these kitties, it is an extremely adorable, lovable, fluffy book. The town of Grimbaud is just delightful to read about, the characters are all quirky in their own ways, and the magic in the book is very unique and cool. If you are looking for a smart yet fluff-filled read, LOVE FORTUNES AND OTHER DISASTERS is definitely it!

  1. Omg RAGDOLLS, they look so fluffy and cuddly ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
I definitely want to have a ragdoll cat when I’m finally able to have one! This will have to wait though, until I’m in a flat better suited for a cat 😦
